Whether you want to improve your home’s energy efficiency or create modern custom glass installations, Vitrerie Justalex brings its expertise to projects throughout Varennes through two specialized divisions:
A smart, eco-friendly alternative that involves replacing only the glass in your fogged or broken windows, saving you the cost of new frames.
Custom-designed tempered glass showers, transparent guardrails, wine cellar partitions, elegant backsplashes and made-to-measure mirrors.
Glazing renovation in Old Varennes
Premature seal failure and loss of clarity
The owners of a cottage located in the historic Old Varennes area were dealing with persistent internal condensation on the windows of their main façade. In addition to blocking natural light, this trapped moisture indicated that the insulating gas had completely escaped, increasing their heating costs in winter.
After our technicians inspected the existing insulated glass units, we proceeded with the custom fabrication of replacement glass units. The installation incorporated a latest-generation Low-E coating and an argon gas fill to create a highly efficient barrier against cold and UV rays.

Glass is the ideal material for creating clean interior architecture, maximizing visual space and allowing natural light to flow. We design and create residential and commercial projects according to your requirements.
From a simple fixed panel for an Italian-style shower to a complete enclosure with sturdy hinged doors, we install safe tempered glass panels. Our designs are adjusted to the millimeter to accommodate irregularities in your tile work and ensure a perfect seal.
Our installations in Varennes feature durable safety glass. To learn how our structures comply with CAN/CGSB safety standards in Quebec, see our regional standards guide.
Bring a contemporary touch to your stairwells, mezzanines or outdoor terraces. Our structural glass guardrails provide uncompromising safety while eliminating visual barriers, creating a spectacular sense of space.
We cut, polish and install a wide variety of glass products according to your requirements: easy-to-clean lacquered glass kitchen backsplashes, mirror walls to maximize the brightness of a room, or watertight glass enclosures to showcase your wine cellar.
Thermal breakage is an unavoidable physical phenomenon caused by a significant temperature difference between two areas of the same pane of glass (for example, when one part is exposed to intense sunlight while another remains shaded by the frame). This thermal stress creates internal tension that causes the glass to crack. It is an unpredictable environmental event that cannot be prevented through maintenance and requires replacement of the sealed glass unit.
Low-E glass features a microscopic layer of metal oxides that acts as a thermal mirror. In winter, it reflects heat from your heating system back into your home. In summer, it blocks the sun’s infrared rays to keep your rooms cooler, while filtering UV rays that can fade floors and furniture.
Yes. We offer a complete selection of durable finishes that are highly sought after by designers, including matte black, polished chrome, brushed nickel, and satin brass/gold.
